The Papanui Tigers have been playing since 1991. The team is heavily involved with the Papanui Softball Club and assists in coaching junior teams and the administration of the Club.
The Tigers Classic Tournament has been running several years now. Any funds raised through the tournament are pushed back into the Club and used to help fund developing players, assist with uniform costs, as well as assist teams playing overseas in tournaments.
